Gregory Parham

Dr. Gregory L. Parham was appointed Assistant Secretary of Agriculture for Administration in June 2013. Prior to this appointment, he was designated Acting Assistant Secretary and served as the Administrator of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS).

Previously, Dr. Parham served as APHIS' Associate Administrator and as the Deputy Administrator for Marketing and Regulatory Programs - Business Services, after joining APHIS as the agency Chief Information. He began his Federal career as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer with the Public Health Service at the Centers for Disease Control. He joined USDA in 1982 and has worked for several USDA agencies including; the Food Safety and Inspection Service, the Extension Service, the Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service, and the Office of the Chief Information Officer.
