Biography

Rob Christensen is the George Romney Professor of Public and Nonprofit Administration at Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Business. His scholarship focuses on prosocial and antisocial behaviors in public service organizations. He also focuses on legal and institutional dynamics in public service. Christensen has authored or edited several books and over 75 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals. His work has been featured in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. He is committed to building links between scholarship and practice in the United States and beyond and he has held visiting and research appointments in Europe and Asia.

Christensen is widely recognized for his leadership in the profession. He served as Chair of the Academy of Management’s Public and Nonprofit Division. He has also served as President of the Public Management Research Association.

Christensen’s research, leadership, and service align directly with NAPA’s Grand Challenges and mission.
