Biography

I am a community builder and legislator with two decades of dedicated service in Montgomery County, Maryland. Throughout my service, I have tackled a wide range of Public Policy challenges through systemic and structural solutions. As the first Latina and immigrant woman elected to the Montgomery County Council, I led by example and forged a solid legacy built on outreach, engagement and results. My main areas of work included Education Policy, Racial Equity and Social Justice Legislation, Fiscal Policy and Civic Education & Engagement. I hope to continue working on these and many other Public Policy issues facing our communities.
