COVID-19 vaccine distribution is progressing well in the U.S., yet major global inequities exist and health concerns with several vaccines will exacerbate these inequities. If not quickly resolved, these inequities may prevent the international economic system from re-engaging at pre-COVID levels. This session will address the international dynamics of vaccine equity as well as China’s active vaccine diplomacy, which is believed to be a serious attempt to increase China’s standing among the world community by providing free and low-cost vaccines to both developing and developed nations.
